Located In the central hills of Nuwara Eliya. The design aimed to mimic the context and architecture of a traditional Chinese village. Such that it created a 'home away from home’ for the visitors. The architect was required to overcome the challenge of designing in a new architecture style, responding to the context and climate Of the site while ensuring that the scheme reflected the notion of a traditional Chinese village.
The scheme incorporates all facilities of a Luxurious hotel including a spa restaurant a cascading pool chalets as well as VIP suites, to attract the expected dent base. The layout was planned responding to the natural terrain of the site as well as considering the typical layout a Chinese village which the architect studied first hand. The living spaces were designed on step-down levels such that each bedroom unit received its own unlace view of the landscape, while ensuring their privacy. Each space was intricately designed to emulate the traditional Chinese architectural character through the use of carefully chosen materials, colours, patterns. Textures and unique Chinese elements.
